I just had my grandfathers watch repaired. It's a 26 jewel Waltham watch. It did not come with the flip open brass cover. It has a regular crystal protecting the watchface. -- Yahoo! Groups Links <*>

Were Walthams used by railroaders? It isn't among the makers' names I'd heard. I have a couple of my grandparents' old Walthams. They weren't railroaders, but watches are beautiful (just 15 jewel). J

Are you sure the watch has 26 jewels? Watches generally have an odd number of jewels (the impulse jewel is the odd one), and anything over 23 would be quite unusual. Is it American made? Glen -- Yaho
