I saw a couple of them in red on a siding in Wray, Co. in the early '80's. I think the only cars that were painted black were the cars rebuilt with outside ribs. Ken Martin -- Yahoo! Groups Sponsor -

Michael, Yes to both your questions. A few were still painted mineral red and a fair number were painted black and not just the 172xxx shoppings. Some were painted black before that program even star
