The term "Scoot" was used by the C&NW workers to refer to their commuter trains. When I lived in the Aurora area 1973-1998 the BN (ex-Q) people always referred to their commuter trains as "Dinkies."

IIRC the M&StL had one or more Budd RDC's for a while. I don't know where they operated, but the RDC's may have been what you term a "streamliner." Ray C.

I have a couple of slides taken 24 November 1978 at Montgomery of number 348 being pulled by Amtrak 715 with three high level cars. The cars are painted in Amtrak colors, but they do have center door
