Hinkley was a conditional stop for the Black Hawk, the last passengers trai=
ns to serve the town (westbound, to discharge revenue passengers from Chica=
go; eastbound, to receive revenue passengers for Chicago when notified at R=
ochelle).=C2=A0 The service outlasted the Q, ending on April 13, 1970 with =
the final eastbound Black Hawk.=C2=A0 Conditional stops at Hinkley and Shab=
bona was added to the Black Hawk's schedules following the July 18, 1959 di=
scontinuance of daily-except-Sunday Chicago-Savanna locals Nos. 45 and 52.=
=C2=A0 The Aurora-Rochelle portion of motor trains 41-42 was discontinued =
April 25, 1948, with the Rochelle-Rockford segment discontinued June 13, 19=
49.
As on December 1970, the Hinkley depot was (still) attired in indian red a=

The 1950 drawing of the 1947 remodeling from the archives (thank you archi=
ve guys!) is a great resource.

Did the 1947 remodeling occur when the depot was moved a block to the east=
?=C2=A0 =C2=A0

When did passenger service end in Hinckley?=C2=A0 Did that coincide with t=
he move or remodeling?

The remodeling changed the freight area to have a ground level section at =
the track side door.=C2=A0 It looks like this was done to accommodate speed=
er parking, which suggests it stopped being a depot by 1947 and was now a M=
OW facility.=C2=A0 =C2=A0Is that correct?

Finally, what color would it have been in 1966?=C2=A0 =C2=A0I have photos =
that show it in green in 1959, and other photos that show it in White/Green=
 BN colors sometime in the BN era.=C2=A0 Because it has been re-painted wit=
h the BN green makes me think it didn't get repainted to white during the e=
nd of the CB&Q era.=C2=A0 Does that sound right?
