I’m not sure how it works, but to do that, the DPU unit at the back will need to be able to take control of the consist and be facing backward for the reverse move out of Burlington down the K-Line.

Should be an all BNSF routing. The mine is served by the BNSF off former GN trackage. Will likely follow the same route as the Granite City all-rails: Kelly Lake-Twin Cities-Savanna-Galesburg-Burlington-Fort Madison.

There was an announcement today that a $15 billion dollar steel plant will be built in Lee County, Iowa.  That would be Fort Madison and Keokuk.  The company's head mentioned the ore from Minnesota would be delivered by rail.  Realistically, there is only one possibility.  I am guessing CPKC to BNSF at Ottumwa, over the main line to Burlington and down the K-Line to the plant.  I am excited by the prospect of seeing ore cars in my backyard.  Lee County needs this and it will also have an effect on Des Moines, Henry and Van Buren counties and Illinois counties across the Mississippi.
