You could install a Frog Juicer on the offending frogs. They power the frogs
and automatically switch polarity when the points move.

I have an HO Oriental brass Mikado that I had worked on and had DCC sound
installed in it for me. It runs well, but does not like Micro Engineering
turnouts. It stalls on the frogs. Not all. but some. This is with the original
Micro Engineering turnout design.. Shinohara/Walthers turnouts cause no
problems. A Keep Alive in the locomotive I think would solve the problem. But
it is on the to do list as the decoder will also need to be replaced with a
newer version that supports a Keep Alive.

Gears in the Oriental locomotives often need replaced, but you can get them
from Northwest Short Line.
