These may be from my consists.  I have a lot of eastbound GN and NP consists from 1968 ND 1969.  Much less than half of the eastbound traffic on the GN and NP into the Twin cities went to the Q.  The CNW got as much traffic as the Q in my GN consists.  All of this immediately changed with the  merger as only local terminating traffic on other roads then went to them in the Twin Cities.  Before the  merger some or many of the empties that went to other roads in the Twin Cities may have been delivered back to the Q at Chicago instead of the Twin cities.  This may have accounted for the 150 car extra norths before the merger.  I personally saw a couple of them at Rochelle which I visited several times in the late sixties.  Right after the merger the eastbound traffic on the C&I roughly doubled.
