That's where I took our boys to train watch or to ride Amtrak when we lived in 
St. Charles, just north of Osceola. It has always been a busy station because 
of its proximity to Des Moines with easy access down I-35.

The February 2026 issue of Trains magazine has a 8 page feature on the Osceola 
IA depot. Built in 1912 by the CB&Q, the interior has been restored by members 
of the Osceola community.

Osceola is the busiest Amtrak station in Iowa and even busier than the station 
in Lincoln, NE. There is also a 2 page map discussing the other depots along 
Amtrak in Iowa.
