[CBQ] C & I pictures from the 1970s-Working the C & I pool

The Friends of the BN have an upcoming article that will be published in their 
October issue. It may be of a length that it will be in two parts over two 
issues. They don’t have enough appropriate photos taken on the C & I. 

They are looking for any of the following or others that show C & I pool crews 
at work.
(For those too young to know, the C & I was(is) the line from Aurora,IL to 
Oregon,IL.But crews referred to the entire run to Savanna as the C & I pool.
But they want BN pictures so no pre-merger painted locos unless buried in the 
consist.


-picture of a train with a car or two of stock at Aurora or on C&I.Setting them 
out is OK.
-any picture over on the Galesburg Peavine between Plum River and Denrock or 
the Mendota-Denrock branch of a through train.
-a picture at Lee of the 1970s detector located there
-any picture of an eastbound through train at Savanna on the mains or in the 
yard.
-an eastbound train approaching Aurora off the C & I or parked at Aurora tower
-high horsepower mainline power parked “behind” Aurora tower 
-a coal train of the early BN painted cars(loaded or empty)
-an ore train, loaded or empty
-snow plow train
-crew doubling a hill
-Chana grain elevator
-the Savanna- Eola way freight, it only went eastbound
-the Mendota-Savanna way freight, it was only westbound but towards the end was 
only eastbound.
-work trains on either the C & I or on the mainline between Cicero and Mendota
-westbound trains lined up ready to leave Cicero departure yard or going under 
the I.C.
-a train setting out on the south wye at Congress Park
-a train setting out or picking up at Nabisco
-eastbound through freights parked on main 3 anywhere from Eola to Downers Grove
-human interest I.e. crews trading at Savanna or anywhere on the C&I, throwing 
switches into or out of siding,etc,etc.

If you can identify the date, location and train number or other info. That 
would be great.

The why these,are explained in the upcoming article.
