[CBQ] Oakland Mills depot/shelter update

Lynn Conrad is heading up the Oakland Mills restoration and I ran into him in the grocery store last week, so I got an update.  The platform has been built for the shelter.  It is located at Henry County Conservation's Verdin Recreation Area on the east side of Oakland Mills.  Lynn said the county needs to do some dirt moving and then the structure will be moved onto the platform.  The volunteers are some of the best.  The lead carpenter finished an upstairs for us when we had a modular home.  Another has a BN caboose in his yard and also a Steel Highways camera west of Mount Pleasant.

 

I had to go to Mount Pleasant this morning, so I ran down to Oakland Mills to get a photo.
