Greetings,
I have nine (9) 400’ reels of 16mm color and black & white film shot by Bernard Corbin. I purchased the film from Don Lake who purchased them from the Corbin family after Bernard’s unexpected passing. The family verified the film collection was sold to Don.
Even though they are in excellent condition it is my opinion and that of David Shephard, film preservationist and owner of Blackhawk Films and Film Preservation Associates, they need to be digitally preserved by a professional film house. Based upon David’s advice, I planned to have them cleaned, digitally transferred (scanned frame-by-frame), color corrected and graded, and converted to a compatible digital video frame rate.
I also obtained a portion of Bernard’s photographs and several O scale models that corroborate the ownership and authenticity of the films based on the comparison of subject matter and photographic evidence. Don had a VHS tape made of the films projected on a wall and recorded with a VHS camcorder. The tape highlights numerous locations including Red Oak, Iowa, the Colorado sugar beet operation, fan trips, along with other Q, UP, DM&IR, RI, PRR Horseshoe Curve (w/T-1’s on passenger trains) locations. Included in the film purchase were black & white prints of many Corbin photos including a nice selection highlighting Bernard’s custom built/modified O scale models that are featured in one 400’ reel of film. A high resolution copy of the scanned photos will be included that will assist in telling Bernard’s story.
Confidential serious inquiries only. A list of subjects by reel is being prepared and cellphone video snippets will be available by WeTransfer.

I no longer have the time needed to devote to this project. It’s time to find them a new home and shared with everyone as Bernard would want.
Thanks.
Randy Danniel
