I believe that the Q painted the soffit under the eaves of brick stations Indian Red or Structural Mineral Red. I am basing this from the Data Sheet put out by the BRHS in 2003. This was in Zephyr No. 47. Per drawing 67700 3-8 (part of the data sheet), brick
stations were to be painted according to the instructions of the structural engineer. However, the drawing indicates brick store houses, shop buildings and engine houses were to use the Indian Red or Structural Mineral Red for the soffit. Color photos of
brick stations included in the data sheet show the red paint under the eaves. Bronze Green was used for the trim on these buildings.
The BRHS data sheet also included color samples for the various paints used on structures. This includes the Indian Red/Structural Mineral Red, which the samples on the data sheet show to be the same paint mix. If you don't have a copy of Zephyr 47, it is
available from the Company Store on the BRHS website.
