[CBQ] 2024 Anniversary Year

Hi all,

 

The year 2024 is a big anniversary year!  First and foremost, it is the 175^th anniversary of the incorporation and initial construction of the Aurora Branch railroad, recognized as the first of the roads that made up our beloved CB&Q! (The Hannibal & St. Joeseph was incorporated two years before the Aurora Branch, but construction didn’t start until 1851.)   It is also the 90^th anniversary of the Pioneer Zephyr, the 75^th anniversary of the California Zephyr and last, but not at all least, the 45^th anniversary of the creation of the Burlington Route Historical Society. 

 

As the editor of the BRHS publications, I’m sponsoring a contest for the creation of a logo to be used on our publications’ covers all nest year for this special year.  The winner of the contest will receive one year of free membership in the BRHS.  The BRHS board will be the judges to select the winning logo.  Submit your entries electronically to Editor@BurlingtonRoute.org, or mail them to:

Entries must be received electronically before midnight December 31, or postmarked by December 15.  The winner will be revealed io the cover of the January Zephyr.
