Hello folks --- again at 6:45pm Chicago time. The connection to the BRHS web site appears to be working again... at least for me in Texas. I hope it is working everywhere else. Here is the story behind this partial 10 hour connection failure today, Friday, September 29, 2023. BRHS web sites is hosted from a data center near Washington DC. About 8:00AM this morning I discovered the lose of connection to the web server and called the hosting company. They made a huge effort to figure out why I was not able to connect, pushing the question to their top network engineers. Their only conclusion was that the problem was not at their facility, but was likely to be with my ISP, Charter/Spectrum Communications. Then I discovered that Dave Lotz could connect but other people in different areas could not. Back on the phone to the hosting company it was determined by 'pinging' and route tracing, that a connection through one of the major Internet carriers near Washington DC was blocking the connection along the path to the hosting company. Not all traffic passed by this channel such as Dave Lotz's case. This was most likely just a breakdown in equipment, not a intentional blockage. To get a better idea of where the blockage was at (what carrier), fearing that it may continue for some time, the hosting company suggested we gather more examples of where this loss of connection was effecting and supply them with this info -- thus my email below. The hosting company hasd a strong guess to which carrier it was but, it is over now. Well, anyway, I hope this is the end of this blockage for everyone to our web site and the end of this story. Thanks to all that responded with your location and tech data, which it appears is no longer needed. On 9/29/2023 2:23 PM, Jack Schroeder
