Tim,

 

It’s been a while, but I painted the most recent cab roofs with ModelFlex Light Tuscan Oxide Red (no. 16-14).  I’m sure others on this list will have good recommendations too.

 

Precision isn’t important unless you want a “just painted” look – weathering will dominate color on a steam engine paint job.  It all gets “smoked”.

What color is the cab roof of the CB&Q steam engines? I usually use Vallejo paints and was wondering if there is something close.
