This installation was further moved to the DS Ottumwa Desk in Galesburg in 1986 I was working the 2nd trick Relief then moving to 2nd trick Ottumwa DS in Jan. of '88 I think Doug's photo of the Maxon "Depot" was nothing more then a Phone Booth for CB&Q and M&St. L(later CNW) Brownie shows Maxon Tower built mid-late 1890's After burn early CTC then called tower remotes installed and in operation July 21, 1933. The phone booth was also used during track maintenance season to reverse trains between Maxon and Lawler Tower(Milw Xing Ottumwa) with an extra operator to copy DR orders. The Albia CTC (in Brick Depot) remoted Maxon Tower Albia Tower 303 and Halpin Tower 307 I worked the 2nd trick Ottumwa Desk until moving to a Temp ADM Chief job (had to be bid in every 90 days)till Feb of '93 when management took off the ADM job getting ready for the move to Ft.
