Eli - What an amazing find!  The Empire Builder is being pulled by a CB&Q Class O-5-A 4-8-4 type.  The Twin Cities Zephyr is being pulled by a CB&Q Class S-4 or S-4-A 4-6-4 type. 

 

Since both trains are east bound, the CB&Q steam power probably ran all the way through to Chicago. I can't speak for the Milwaukee passenger train, but it appears to be a 4-8-4 type to me - Louis
