Thank you, Eli. I really like those photos. For one thing it is around 1940 and they are in color. Until the 1950’s as I recall color photos or slides were not very common.
I like the composition of the first one with the flowers in front and the impressive railroad action in the background. The second one is especially nice for me, because I grew up with the dinkies - like the one being passed in Downers at high speed by a streamlined Hudson with a nice thread of smoke trailing it.

Ed,
I don’t have any movies of either Aeolus pulling a Zephyr, but here are two photos that my dad took around 1939 / 1940. The first was taken near where I-294 crosses under the Burlington, west of Western Springs and the second at Downers Grove with an eastbound train. Bill Barber Gravois Mills, MO

Does any Film Footage of Aeolus pulling a Zephyr exist? From: GameBreaker64Date: Tue, 09 Aug 2022 11:59:37 PDT I find it fascinating that steam with streamlining would occasionally pull the CB&Q's Zephyrs. Is there any extant film footage of a streamlined S-4a pulling a Zephyr?
Thanks!
Eli Santin
