Al, Dave and Steve,
I hope that this note finds you well.
You may or may not be familiar with the CB&Q 5631 restoration project that I have become involved in, but I could use your urgent help.
Today, our city council will vote on an initiative that will have the effect of allocating significant monies to the restoration of the locomotive and the creation of a historic railroad park or could have the effect of killing it altogether.
Please see the website: CBQ5631.com for more information.
Steve Brantz and Kristen Jennings are city councilors who will vote against this project unless they hear voices of support from the community.
Please help me. Please send an email to:
Anything that you can do to voice your support and speak to the historical significance of this locomotive will be helpful. These are good people--they just need to know that they are making the right decision.
Please share this information with anyone in your network and ask them to do the same.
These emails must be received by these councilors today by mid-day to have any effect.
The Rotary Club of Sheridan has done significant boots-on-the-ground polling, and Sheridan citizens support this project by a ratio of 50:1. But, this is an inflection point where a significant historical project will get a thumbs up or thumbs down nod
to move forward--and the opposition is very outspoken. Please help us with this effort!
My best,
Blaine
