Janesville-McNabb on the Milwaukee Road Rochelle & Southern

The Rochelle & Southern is lesser known but still interesting portion of the
Milwaukee Road.
We'll travel through Rockford, Davis Junction, Mendotta, and DePue, including
trackage rights on the Burlington near Rockford and former New York Central
across the Illinois River. Once there was plenty of local freight. It served
the steel plant at Hennepin.
Railroad & Shortlines Club of Chicago meets at Chicago Union Station on the
third Friday of the month except in July and August.
Please wear your face mask. Transportation Security Administration has extended
the security directive for face mask use through April 18, 2022. This includes
the requirement to wear a mask within Amtrak's offices.
