From a distance, it looks like the wheels at the rail have been flattened, but if you blow it up, it looks like (especially on the right truck) that it's not the actual wheel, but something else on the truck. Anyone know? And, were these trucks related to the Allied full cushion type? Thanks!

I was in Las Cruces a few years ago and saw that waycar. They were trying to raise funds to mitigate the lead paint with which the waycar had been painted at some time. I don't know if they ever got that resolved.
I wasn't surprised to find a caboose on display at the depot museum in Las Cruces, NM. I was surprised to find that it was CB&Q 14327:
At least they didn't try to pass it off as a Santa Fe car.
