[CBQ] Heavyweight Underbody Paint Colors

I’m ready to paint several heavyweight head end cars, coaches, a chair car, and two diners. Almost all of the photos I have of these car types are black and white, so it’s hard to tell what’s Pullman green and what’s black. My impression is that the underbody was sprayed black and the battery box, water tank, and any other equipment that was near the sides of the cars were Pullman green on the part facing the sides, probably from overspray when the sides were painted. Am I correct or were the battery boxes, etc. painted Pullman green on all surfaces.

 

I’ve built several Branchline passenger car kits, and the faces of the battery boxes and other components on the sides of the cars are Pullman green, but I’m not so sure about the head end cars. Were those battery boxes Pullman green or black on the front?
