Thank you Louis and Hol. I was a BRHS member for about 15 years about 15 years ago. I couldn't keep up with all the publications I was getting so I cut way back. Now just a member of the Mopac group since my focus is primarily on the T&P.
I'll check ebay, but maybe someone following this discussion has a lead.

Mike - If you belong to the Burlington Route Historical Society, go to their web site and enter the Members Only section.  Within the Flickr Collection there are a variety of images showing FW&D way cars - Louis

Unfortunately, I don't know, as I don't keep up with modeling that much anymore.  I can only tell you, from the photos I have of the FW&D cars, that the Walthers model in mineral red would be correct for FW&D 102 as I photographed it in 1962.  I have no idea where you might find one of these cars other than on eBay.

Many thanks, Hol. Any idea if the Walther way cars for the FWD are numbered for the 59 acquisition and if so are available anywhere.

Just noticed your query had not been answered.  FW&D bought six wooden three- and four-window waycars from the CB&Q on 10/1/1959 and numbered them 102-107.  Then on 11/8/61 they bought three more and numbered them 108-110.  All were retired in the 1960s and the 102 number reused on a new caboose converted from a former baggage-express car, itself converted from a former troop kitchen car, also purchased from the CB&Q.

Slightly different question. Can someone tell me about the FWD cabboses in the OP. Specifically, would they be correct for my pre 1960 layout? If so, I would also like to find one.

Dave,

Have you found the Walthers Model you are looking for yet?

I think I have 5 of them 2 FWD and 3 CBQ all with the detail kits not installed.

Right now I am in hospital with Covid but doing will.

Most are of the two caboose per box type that Walthers had. Would consider trade sell or other offers. I am not real good at putting small stuff together but would consider labor as part of a trade to have mine built.
