[Edited Message Follows]

Back in the late 1960's-early 1970's I lived east of Denver on the UP's Kansas Pacific line, and saw around two to five red CB&Q gondolas near the end of the eastbound Rock Island afternoon train.  Does anyone know where the were from, heading to, or what the load was?  It seems someone told me they came off of the Lyons branch in Colorado, or maybe somewhere off of the line from Broomfield to Longmont.  Anyone have an idea?  I recall they were open top, not covered...

Thanks,
Patrick Curtis
