To all. This is the first time I've commented on the Q group site. I was a Brakeman/Conductor in Alliance from '74 to '77 before transferring to Sheridan. Been up and down the hill many times. Best memories were eastbound sitting on the back steps of the caboose after a rain with the sent of sagebrush in the air or a beautiful sunset as we slowly pulled the hill.

With the double-tracking and easing of some of the curves, the exact spot today probably bears little resemblance to the FT photo.
