The photo is dated as 8/6/1965. Is the date off?

There is a long (1,025 page) pdf "News items from the Kendall County Record, 1870-1889" that includes many details of the construction and early operation of the Ottawa, Oswego & Fox River Valley RR (Geneva-Streator, via Oswego and. The pcv came from the Little White School museum in Oswego. Roger Matile at the museum has written many historic articles dealing with local railroads in the Aurora-Beacon News. See https://littlewhiteschoolmuseum.org/
