Greg,

I've attached two photos for those interested in modeling these roofs or peeling roofs.

The first is a Q XM-26. My friend Jim McCroskie built the Speedwich resin kit and did the roof. He spray painted the roof a galvanized color first using Scalecoat II. He let it dry and then used MicroScale's masking product on the roof. He then spray painted the roof and the rest of the car the car color using Scalecoat II. After the car color dried, he peeled the masking off the roof. He did an excellent job.

The second picture is of a Branchline Trains factory painted Erie steel boxcar kit I assembled and then weathered with craft paints. I did the weathering based off a picture of an Erie boxcar in the same class. Just an example of another technique.
