Another reason to say 'Washington State' on this site is that there is a Washington, IA that was a station for TWO narrow gauge lines (standard-gauged in 1902) that became part of the Q.  The Burlington & Western & the Burlington & Northwestern  both had Washington, IA as a terminus!   The B&NW portion was operated into the BN era.  Portions of the B&W were absorbed into the parallel M&StL branch when the former was abandoned  Gerald
