First of all, Tom, Happy Birthday!!!
I have started to compose text and lay out pages on what will be the story of Aurora-Chicago service of the CB&Q and predecessor roads.
I started with Stone Avenue and over the last few days have discovered more facts about the history of the LaGrange area stations than I knew before I started writing!
I don’t have much on the Stone Avenue Freight Depot beyond some poor aerial views, track diagrams, and some accident reports that detail what was there. Likewise I don’t have and really good photos of the LaGrange Freight Depot.
I have nailed down the location and pedigree of the Passenger Stations.

I am reposting Jim Singers info so everyone knows the history. Everything Jim said is spot on.
Just updating some things as I get a better look at all the info I have gotten.
My idea about the Armory was just from my grade school days playing in the Tank parked out side what Jim has identified as Nagle's Cold storage facility.
So the window I broke with the tank barrel was Nagle's window. My mom rented a locker there when I was a kid.
The picture shows the Freight House on the SW corner of Stone Ave. Between the RR tracks and the LTHS football field. What I remember as the REA.
I did receive packages there when I was Drag Racing.
I remember a work train parked in the long siding that went west for several blocks. I have color picture of a Steam Wrecker Crane parked in the Siding there.
We used the parking lot there when to took the train to my job with the Q at 547 W. Jackson Blvd. Chicago. I am having a birthday today 79. Gads... Tom
Charlie's info is from the 1890's I believe the Question was from the 40's or 50's.

Hillgrove and Kensington photo was the location of Lord lumber in the 40's and 50's as it moved from Spring and Hillgrove location to the site of Vail at Hillgrove and Kensington.
Lord's old location at Spring and Hillgrove is the site now of Grayhill. The brick setback building(Grayhill) is the Nagl (Nagel) Locker which was a cold storage facility that was rail served as part of the X.
Color photos were taken today.
Hope this clears up Tom Hammers question.
