I’m pretty partial to “Silver Spoon” that is preserved at the National Museum of Transport in Kirkwood, Mo . I also have the Kato N scale version

Good point.  On the other hand, how many Silvers can you name just off the top of your head??  Interesting exercise...

From the 1936 Railway Age listed the 20 “Silver” names of DZ cars with the comment -


     “The cars of  the new Denver Zephyrs have all been named with combinations of “silver”. For the 20 cars, so many combinations were used that it is difficult to think of a common combination with “silver” that has not been used.”

The writer evidently did not foresee the other 200+ Silvers that were to follow.
