Here's the photo of Omaha's freight houses. This view looks South. The
Missouri River is just a short distance to the left (and not in the photo.)
To the right are buildings of Omaha's jobbers canyon torn down in the 1980's.
Also visible to the rear of the Q freight houses is Omaha Union Station and the
former UP freight house, later remodeled into the the Harriman Dispatching
Center. This overall site is today the location of the former Conagra
Headquarters Campus. Sad to see the buildings in such dilapidated condition,
but at least it shows where they were. Photo by Tim Vana, 4/27/80.

Thanks for the info. Don. No rush but if you can send photos that would be
nice. Might or might not use as the article will be focused on the 6-12
(depending on time frame) freight houses the Q had in Chgo. And their
operations. Might be good to have photos of destinations of some,of the
outbound cars. Leo

Leo, I think Omaha also had two, an inbound and an outbound (side by side).
I might even be able to supply a photograph. - Don Zinnecker, Omaha

Was there any other point on the Q that had multiple freight houses as the Q
did in Chicago ?
Yes I’m aware La Grange,IL had two and Aurora,IL had two
but that’s nothing compared to the number in Chicago. Yup,
this is another work in progress for the BRHS Bulletin.
