It's collection of photos that were taken for the CB&Q sponsored book Granger Country: A Pictorial Social History of the Burlington Railroad issued in 1949 in commemoration of the Q's 100th anniversary. There were many photos taken by photographers
Esther Bubley and Russell Lee that were not printed in the book (a book that is very difficult to find). More of these photos were printed in the book
The Burlington Route In Focus printed in 2016 with authors James Reisdorff and Michael Bartells. This book was done with assistance from several members of the BRHS in providing information and captions for the photos.
It is a fantastic collection of photos at a moment in time when great change were coming to the railroad and to American life.

Here's our photograph in question thanks to MSW's sleuthing to find an online copy of it with the Newberry I believe. The orders are dated May 5, 1948 and it's from the collection "Life along the Burlington
Route" or whatever it's called.
