Since track scales came and went, the dates of service are very important to prototype modelers. I hope that information will eventually become available for all
reweigh stations. Another issue of importance is the changes in reporting marks with the BN merger to avoid duplication in reporting marks as CB&Q merged with GN and NP. Jerry Hamsmith informed me that Dayton’s Bluffs was originally DF with CB&Q but was changed
to DB with the BN. Des Moines was changed from DS with the Q to DM with BN. Does anyone know of a comprehensive list of BN reweigh marks?
Earlier, I thought that FRN was Fremont, NE and SE was Streator, IL, but I have come to question that as Jerry’s list has FR for Fremont and SR for Streator. Could
FRN be Fremont under BN and SE be Streator under BN, or are FRN and SE other locations?
Did Murray Yard (North Kansas City) and Harlem Yard (St. Louis or North St. Louis?) have their own reweigh marks, or did Murray Yard use KC and Harlem Yard use
STL or NSTL (North St. Louis)?
Did Aurora stop reweighing freight cars after freight car construction passed to Galesburg and later Havelock? If so, when did reweighs move to Eola?
As Eric says, the more we find out, the more questions we have to ask.

Subject: [CBQ] Streator scale track
Group,
The other day Nelson Moyer posted about reweigh stations and reminded me of the table on page 58 of Burlington Bulletin 27 showing locations of scale tracks. One of the places listed is Streator, Ill. and I commented on not knowing about that having done plenty
of research on this area. Turns out I was "misremembering" as I do have a document showing the location of that track. It is from a Q Side Track Record with a last revision date of Jan. 1928 which would slightly predate the illustration showing the Fairbanks
scale installations. Attached is a portion of that Side Track Record. The scale track is numbered 61.
With information there are always follow up questions. Does anybody remember this scale track being in place in Streator and when it may have been removed from service? Thanks.
