We have a collection of narrow gauge rolling stock from the Uintah Railway at Cross Orchards Living History Farm...part of the Museum of Western Colorado.  Cross Orchards also hosts the Grand Valley Modelers Association.  They have an impressive HO and HOn3 layout as well as am impressive G-Scale outdoor layout.  We like to tell them we model in 1 to 1 scale!

All safety appliance was under the rules of the AAR/ICC so all  were standard no mater what type of car or the road they were from or on.
Prime example is on the Q's box cars the had a door added the grabs had to be extended to meet the  AAR/ICC Standards

Yes, both diagram books and the photo book. One of the difficulties I’m having is that the drawings don’t always show grab irons, and when they do, they’re not drawn to scale. Tom’s instructions just say, ‘install grab irons’. No length or position information. I have to rely on photos for grab irons and vent sizes and locations.

Nelson,

Do you have Bill Glick’s Passenger Car books?

I’m starting to build a CB&Q heavyweight PC-6 chair car, and the only two photos I have are 4500 from the Glick photo book and 4552 (modified) from an unknown source. Both photos are the large pressurized water tank side. It would be very helpful to get a photo of the brake cylinder side, particularly for the clerestory vent, underbody equipment arrangements. Also, roof type (both ribbed and smooth roofs were used), and truck type (kit instructions state either 5H, 5K, or 5M were used). Web searches have come up negative.  The series numbers for unmodified PC-6 chair cars are 4500-4501, 4504-4507, and 4514. Any and all photos appreciated.
