I know of these cars and even have a model of one but I guess I’ve never really seen one in service or from that particular angle in a photo.

The first wo cars in the train are Live Poultry Transport chicken cars that carried live chickens and turkeys from farm towns to city markets. The last such car is preserved at
the Museum of Transport in St. Louis. Al Hoffman, a Q fan who is not a member of this group, has compiled a detailed history of the cars and the several companies that used them. Below are a few examples of the cars.
