That is very interesting !  The NP cars must have been based on the 20 Ft NM-1s of 1899.
While the Q was building the NM-2 bobbers in 1903, 1906 & 1907 they were also building conventional 30 Ft steel under frame NE cars.  
No evidence has surfaced of the Q contemplating a similar conversion  program but the we don’t have the AFEs (now in dead storage at Colorado R.R. Museum).
