FTW: I was not impressed with Genesis red gp7s. glue gobs, paint blemishes, even a finger print, mu stands on backwards, crooked parts, hand grabs very uneven, headlite on one unit did not work, shot down the track like a rocket. sent them back. Athearn apoligized. no help.

The first time most of us saw the model paint on the new Proto SD9 was at Trainfest (and it looked very good). My local dealer received the SD9s I ordered on Saturday.

So based on that timeline, I personally would expect the soonest to see an actual picture/video of the Proto GP7 model will be close to the actual release date which is now listed as late June 2020 by Walthers. So maybe a month before at best.

On the Genesis GP7s, I thought Athearn did a good job on the paint on the Chinese Red ones (and they run very well too). So I have high hopes that the Blackbird GP7s will be done correctly as well.
