Since I had a couple of old Hallmark Plated Brass E-5 A&B sets, I wanted
to see if I could make a respectable model out of them. There are some
short-comings on the model, that can't be avoided, but this is where I
ended up. I just used the shell and stripped down frame. I modified and
repowered the frame with an Atlas/Kato motor w/two hole mount, figured
out a way to mount Proto 2000 E-6 trucks, made new drive shafts, drilled
a bunch of holes in the shell for grab-irons and used Micro Scale E-5
decals. I also did the #9912 A&B using the same procedure which now
gives me the last 3 operating E-5's on the roster in 1964.
