Thank you to the approx. 55-60 folks who attended last nights presentation on
the "Q in Lee County" at the really nice Loveland Community Center in Dixon.
The Lee County H.S. staff found themselves scrambling for chairs to meet the
number of people coming in the door ! I personally was impressed that a some
former Q/BN employees came out that we had not seen before. One became our
newest Conductors club member. I have great hope that this newest member will
be a future writer and speaker for the society based on his many years as a
member of Q operating management.
I was encouraged by the number of questions and knowledge of the audience and
as usual learned some things from them.

I especially want to thank Scott and Nancy Stearns, Jim Davidson and Tom Whitt
for their assistance with setup, tear down and the company store. We did sell
quite a few of our BRHS publications and handed out membership applications.

Thanks also to MIke Schafer and Ken Ford for photos that in particular the
audience enjoyed.

Currently the next presentation is scheduled for Nov. 14 at Chicago Union
Station in the Founders room inside the Legacy Lounge off the great hall. The
title is a repeat of "Batavia's Railroads" . So if you missed the original
presentation this will likely be the last chance to learn about the 3 Railroads
and six lines that once served Batavia.

Also working on scheduling a presentation in Downers Grove,IL for late fall or
early winter and have committed to a special feature presentation during
Downers Groves Founders day events next May.

Leo Phillipp
