Continuing in the standard we set forth in Bud LInroth’s Quincy book, Mile Post 206 Publishing is pleased to announce the Pre-publication offer for The Burlington In South Dakota, Joe Douda’s complete look at South Dakota Black Hills rail history including a companion DVD.

Joe spent 45 years extensively researching and gathering material for a book he never felt would be published due to it’s vast coverage of the Burlington in South Dakota and the railroads connecting to it from electric to mining and logging railroads. Joe did a masterful job  condensing volumes(read file boxes) of information acquired from many trips to the Black Hills and the Newberry Library to create this book. 

The hardbound book is over 500+ pages featuring over 680+ photographs, complete equipment rosters, maps, diagrams and Sanborn maps. Many photographs were obtained from the finest local area collections in South Dakota.

The bonus DVD features over 1,000+ pages of additional Black Hills material including Travel Brochures, rosters, AFE’s, track alignment charts, maps, newspaper clippings featuring local railroad news and additional subject matter. The DVD is only available with purchase of the book.

The Pre-Publication price is $80.00. The retail price of the book is $95.00 including the DVD unless there is a tariff imposed or costs increase due to uncertain trade policies. The Pre-Publication price of $80.00 includes any tariff increase and will not be passed on.

A PayPal invoice can be sent. Credit cards are accepted by telephone. Please provide a phone number and time to call. Checks and money orders are also accepted.

Delivery is expected in December, possibly for Christmas delivery. Shipping is $10 for USPS Media Mail or if you prefer, $15.00 USPS Priority Mail. Insurance is included. International shipping is at actual cost for USPS Global Priority and insurance.
