When a new publication about the 'Q' is announced- you await it's
release with great anticipation. When it arrives, and you have poured
through it, you deem it to be an 'excellent' piece of work, but ......
oft times it leaves you wanting more!
Burlington Bulletin #55, on the 1956 Vista-Dome Denver Zephyr, has
totally exceeded my expectations, and after completing the final page,
it left nothing more to be desired! Well researched and full of train
consists (I just completed my HO Scale 14-car DZ), car by car
information and lots of informative sidebars , it is a thorough and
comprehensive trilogy to 'Q's' finest. Well done!!!! John W. Schultz,
the BRHS, and Editor Dave Lotz are to be commended for putting out such
a fine publication.
FYI- On pages 142/143 of Karl Zimmermann's hardcover book 'Burlington's
Zephyrs', published by MBI Publishing Co. in 2004, there is a color shot
of the Dome interior of Dome/Parlor/Lounge/Observation 'Silver Veranda'
or 'Silver Chateau' (not specified) showing the bench-type or
'love-seat' seating that was only found in these two dome cars.
