The 15 CB&Q SD-45's, 516 -530, were built in January, 1969 and were the second to the last new units the Q received. The last CB&Q units ordered AND delivered to the Q were the 9 U23C's, 460 - 468 (following the number series of the 20 "SD9s" [440 - 459 single control] in 1957) built in April, 1969.
Per Hol Wagner's 1971 Burlington Northern Annual, the CB&Q had on ORDER three additional classes of locomotives, but were built after March 2, 1970 and delivered in BN colors. Those 3 CB&Q orders were:
6 SD-45's, to be CB&Q 531 - 536 but built in August, 1970 as BN 6492 - 6497
15 SW1000's, to be CB&Q 9322 - 9336 but built November, 1970 thru January, 1971 as BN 435 - 449
4 U33C's, to be CB&Q 578 - 581 but built in February, 1971 as BN 5725 - 5728
