Come on guys, all you have to do is walk up to them, stare them in the eye, pat them on the head, AND then hope you can run faster that 35 miles an hour the other way.

12 foot long mountain lion?  That's the size of a horse!  But even the small ones would be enough to chase me back up on the engine.  Think I'd just stay up there and throw lit fusees at them!

For Charlie Vlk, the only 2 mountain lions, ( cougar, puma ), that I've seen in my 15 year career on the UP, were just west of Kit Carson CO.  The one sitting was about 6 foot tall.  It's mate, trotting through the field, I would guess about 10 to 12 feet, nose to tip of tail.  Beautiful animals though.
