I just wanted to thank the following BRHS members for their hard work in making
our two hot days at the Kendall County Fall Festival a success. We introduced
hundreds of people to the BRHS and many left the original Plano Depot with
Info. On the BRHS in their hands. We also added to the society funds by
selling CDs and Bulletins from the company store.
I want to especially thank Ryan Smith for graphiting all the moving parts on
the Q Locomotive bell as literally hundreds of kids rang the bell. At times it
became a bit of a contest between the loco. Bell and the steam tractor whistle.

Others who either worked on the clean up/preparation of the depot and
caboose,or worked this weekend as greeters, teachers, docents or what ever term
you want to use for them as they explained how things used to be on the Q.

Thank you to:

Jim Davidson
Dan Hornback
Jon Habegger
Larry Owen
Ryan Smith
Bob Stekl
Tom Whitt

I think we all learned more about the Q from being at the festival. I know I
did. While we worked hard we also had some fun and took turns walking the event
to take in the sites.

The Kendall County Historical Society was gracious, we discussed potential
future synergies between our organizations and they were so thankful for our
help they even fed all of us for two days !

We are working on both new and on repeating some railroad hobby and
Railroadiana shows to Introduce more people to the BRHS. Members are
encouraged to participate .
.

Job well done,

Leo Phillipp
Director and VP Projects
Burlington Route Historical Society
