Bob I'm sure we have the same copy. Seems my handwritten notes don't agree with what I just verified in the ETT3. The incorrect translation was all mine. I didn't think about the change in consolidated code symbols after 1967.
But Bottom line is that the wye was there in 1970.
And thanks for reminding me of what an investigation felt like !

You and I must have two different versions of the Chicago Region Time Table
#3, dated January 18, 1970 covering the Chicago, Ottumwa and Hannibal Divisions
(the last East End CB&Q TT). Mine shows CCOR (edition of 1967) Rule
6(A) Sign "T" for Ottawa and many other locations. The letter "T"
designated "turn table or wye". In the previous rule book, edition of May
1, 1951, Rule 223(a) had 10 station signs, where the letter "T" was just for
turn table and the letter "Y" was for wye. The 1967 Code changed old Rule
223(a) to new Rule 6(A) and now had 18 letters; "Y" became yard limits and "T"
consolidated turntable and wye.
