Thread-topic: CB&Q Corn Planter Lids

In response to the inquiry about these planters, here's an exchange that took place on this list two months ago.  Hope it answers some of your questions; it seems to be about all we know about these planter lids.

BTW, the CB&Q corn planters were produced by International Harvester and later by Case-IH.

There's an interesting item for sale on eBay right now that clearly demonstrates how generally the line down the west side of the Mississippi between Burlington and St. Louis was known as the K Line.  The item on eBay is a promotional ashtray of the Klein Manufacturing Co. of Burlington, which marketed its hog feeders under the trade name K-Line, a play on words that also helped people correctly pronounce the company name:

Klein Manufacturing Company Burlington Iowa K-Line solid aluminum ashtray. One edge is slightly bent along with some wear on the front and back. It measures 6" in diameter and has 4 cigarette holders. I combine shipping on multiple items. Thanks for viewing this listing and be sure to check out my other auctions and ebay store for other great items. If you have any questions please ask. | eBay!

And don't forget the seed planters marketed under the CB&Q trade name:

Case international harvester C. B. & Q. Cast iron Planter cover. Rusty ready to be sand blasted and painted or left just the way it is. It is about 9" across. Please review all photos for item condition before bidding. Thanks for looking, have a great day. | eBay!
