Don the AMB kits do require some modeling skills. The construction is laser cut wood sized to fit, but must be glued together. Some of the wood has adhesive backing, so simply stick together. Good fit may require some sanding or filing. The older kits had plastic underframes that required kitbashing, current kits come with pre-cut wood underframes. You must be able to cut and bend brass wire to form the grab irons. Or purchase an aftermarket kit, ie the ones from Dave are great. And of course painting and decaling skills are required.

 

As an alternative, Walthers did a CBQ 4 window caboose in plastic. All you had to do was install and paint grab irons. They are not listed on line at Walthers, but you might find one at a hobby shop or swap meet, or try eBay.
