Rupert,
The Quincy trip was great. The Ocean View rode like an ocean liner, very smooth and comfortable. The run was very close to on time at every station. The handouts helped riders learn about the history of various locations. The sun came out and the day was really enjoyed by all. I didn't hear a single negative comment about the train, our food and refreshments on the car were plentiful and we had access to the Amtrak lounge too.
The seating arrangement in the Ocean View dome is more like a lounge and spacious. There was plenty of room and conversations.
The restaurant at Quincy did a nice job and the presentations were good. Some of us also managed to identify the Q Quincy freight house. Some photos of the remaining Burlington lettering and herald were taken.
The archive committee did a great job of serving various treats and drinks in route and keeping things clean and organized.
It was a great day for the riders, the archive fund received a very nice influx of funds,Amtrak made money .
I'll predict that Amtrak may very well contact other groups with charter offers in the future.
I was at the spring meet today but had to leave in the early afternoon for other commitments. The morning swap was well attended with many conversations going on in the swap area and the dining area.

Does anyone have a report on the Spring Meet and the Vista
