Bulletin No. 8 has photos and Hol Wagner's drawing of 28' Mail Car no. 2001, a car that begs to be modeled.  I do have a few questions that someone in the group might be able to answer.

1. In the enlarged photo I do see a brake cylinder behind what appears to be a steam line vapor trap.  Can one assume that the car was equipped with straight air brakes?  Further, if it was so equipped, might one assume that the end view in the drawing was of the A end and that the B end would have had a brake wheel or Peacock type of handbrake?

2. If that was indeed a steam vapor trap, I would guess that the steam line just passed through and the car itself was not steam heated
.
3. On the drawing there appears to be two nuts with washers in the buffer block on the end.  Could those be the termination of a truss rod, or just the attachment for the buffer blocks?  The side view does show what is either a cross beam or possibly the lower portion of a queen post beam just to the right of that (vapor trap?).  Surely this car would not have a steel underframe, although I guess one could have been applied when the end platforms were removed.

By the way, I did check Bill Glick's book and did not find this car there.
