Subject: CB&Q E unit decals
OBS-CALS introduces a new “O” scale decal set for Burlington’s “E” units. There will be a set for the F3’s (9960A – 9965A, 9960C – 9965C) coming soon provided there is some interest.
The set features all new, vector format, artwork and included both red and black nose stripes. There are both notched and un-notched stripe sets in red and black. In addition there are some
extra striping to use on the ends of the large number boards as used in on the E8’s and E9’s..
Also included are the “E” unit ID emblems (E7, E8 and E9) with the stripes and numerals clear so the body color shows through, as in the prototype.
They are being printed buy a well known, model railroad decal printing concern. I had been using Alps printers until now but the cost and availability of Alps printers and inks has forced
me to have the actual printing done elsewhere. Which is really okay by me as the fun in manufacturing decals is in the artwork; the printing itself has always been a bit of a pain.
I am up-loading a pdf proof of the actual, “O” scale artwork to the files section for your perusal. Do remember that although this pdf was made from the actual artwork, a pdf file is not
as sharp as a vector file. However many of you will likely not have a vector program on your machine while anyone will have, or can download, a pdf reader for free.
Cost for the set will be $20.00. I will be accepting orders until March 20, at which time I will order the sets. I can order more at anytime provided I have a minimum order of 4 sets.
